1. The flange of the mold is worn, deformed, cracked, etc., resulting in the failure of the mold to be used. Using surfacing technology to repair all the damaged parts of the mold can effectively increase the service life of the mold and improve the plastic deformation and wear resistance of the mold.
2. When there is a chipping at the edge of the punch and die, use the same welding rod as the chipping base material for surfacing, and then process according to the dimensional accuracy requirements of the drawing
3. When the edge of the cavity is bumped and notched, the repair method can be used. The repair is completed by the fitter using argon arc welding. The rule for extrusion and expansion repair is to drill holes near the notch, and the side walls of the extrusion cavity are trimmed by fitters, and the plugs and parting surfaces should be flattened.
Fourth, the surfacing processability of hardened mold steel is relatively poor. During processing, it is easy to cause cracks in the mold steel due to the too fast cooling speed. Therefore, when welding hardened mold steel, a tempering furnace should be prepared to facilitate preheating of the mold in advance.
