What should be noted when making plastic molds? The first thing to consider is the complexity of the mold structure. Generally speaking, it takes about one month to produce a plastic mold. For more complex molds, the time required is even longer. Usually, when opening a plastic mold, a detailed review is needed. After the review, the mold can be opened. After a plastic mold is completed, it needs to be tested for inspection.

1. Do not focus solely on product design while neglecting mold manufacturing:
Some users, when developing products or conducting new product trials, often initially focus only on product research and development, neglecting communication with mold manufacturing units. After the initial product design is determined, contacting mold manufacturers in advance has three benefits:
1. It can ensure that the designed product has a good forming process and will not need to modify the final design due to difficulties in processing parts.
2. Mold manufacturers can prepare for the design in advance, preventing rushed decisions that may lead to incomplete considerations and delays in the project schedule.
3. Producing high-quality molds can only be achieved through close cooperation between the supply and demand sides, ultimately reducing costs and shortening the cycle.
2. Do not just consider the price; instead, consider quality, cycle, and service comprehensively.
1. There are many types of molds, roughly divided into ten categories. Based on different requirements such as part materials, physical and chemical properties, mechanical strength, dimensional accuracy, surface finish, service life, and economic efficiency, different types of molds are selected for forming.
2. High-precision molds require processing with high-precision CNC machines, and the mold material, forming process, and other aspects have strict requirements. CAD/CAE/CAM mold technology must also be used for design and analysis.
3. Some parts have special requirements during forming, and molds may also need to use advanced techniques such as hot runner systems, gas-assisted forming, and nitrogen cylinders.
4. Manufacturing companies should have CNC, electrical discharge, wire cutting machines, and CNC profiling milling equipment, high-precision grinding machines, high-precision three-coordinate measuring instruments, computer design and related software, etc.
5. For large-scale stamping molds (such as automotive covering molds), it is necessary to consider whether the machine tool has a clamping mechanism, even lubricants for the edges, multi-station progressive die, etc. In addition to the stamping tonnage, the feeding device, machine tool, and mold protection devices also need to be considered.
6. The manufacturing methods and processes of the above molds are not possessed and mastered by every enterprise. When choosing a cooperative manufacturer, it is necessary to understand its processing capabilities, not only considering hardware equipment, but also combining management level, processing experience, and technical strength.
7. For the same set of molds, the quotations from different manufacturers sometimes vary greatly. You should not pay a price higher than the value of the mold while also not paying less than the cost of the mold. Mold manufacturers, like you, should aim to achieve reasonable profits in business. Ordering a mold with a much lower quotation will be the beginning of trouble. Users should comprehensively evaluate based on their own requirements.
3. Avoid multiple collaborations and try to integrate mold manufacturing and product processing into one line:
1. Having a qualified mold (with qualified test pieces) does not necessarily mean that a batch of qualified products can be produced. This is mainly related to the selection of processing machines for parts, forming processes (forming temperature, forming time, etc.) and the technical proficiency of operators.
2. With a good mold, there should also be good forming processing. It is best to have a one-stop collaboration, avoiding multiple collaborations.
